For those that don't know, UTMB is the acronym for the University of Texas Medical Branch (in Galveston). Brian works there in the oncology department.
Okay, he's not exactly the star of this documentary, but he is shown a few times in the video report. Click on the play button to watch the short video and to see Brian in action behind the scenes.
And, on a separate note, the cheapest gas I've seen in the last few days is $3.289. Those prices are prompted by some competition between a Citgo and Chevron station. Most other stations are anywhere between $3.379 and $3.599. Yeah for competition!
We popped up to $4.09 yesterday and today it's sitting at $3.94. We had gone down to $3.82 and then Russia and Georgia had to get into their little fight
Cheap gas that is sad when we think 3.29.9 a gal is cheap! I really like the Andersons picture!! You have a neat family! Please keep me in your prayers as I go through breast cancer screening.
hello, and welcome to pleonast. I am the owner, the big cheese, as it were. You must sign in by commenting on my weblog, and then you may go about your day in peace.
Had to go for some Physical Therapy this morning before work. Noticed on one stretch of highway ... the same highway ... that 87 octane gas ranged from as high as $3.659 to ... are you ready for this? ... are you sure? ... okay, make sure you're sitting down ... $3.199. Yes, $3.199. However, it was Chavez's gas (Citgo's), and I would only buy it if in a true emergency situation. Anyway, I was pleasantly pleased to buy some Chevron gas for $3.219. Strange though, I go down the same road 5-6 miles where there's less competition, and another Chevron station was selling their gas for $3.659.
I think it was Bob Barker who used to say on the Price is Right, "Come on down." Anyway, that's what I say about the gasoline prices. "Come on down!"
Maybe that ole skinny piggybank can start putting some flesh back on its ribs now.
Gas prices continue to drop. I passed a few gas stations that were selling 87 octane for $3.559/gallon. Bought some no-name gas last Monday morning to fill up the tank on the Five Hundred. It was the only station I passed that didn't have long lines (it was the day before Tropical Storm Edouard made landfall). The price was $3.619, but with a potential hurricane knocking on your door, it seemed like a good idea to have a tank full of gas so we could depart if the weather digressed.
How are your prices?
Update ... passed more gas today (Sat. 08/09)
Gasoline prices have dropped during the week. Bought Conoco gas today for $3.469/gal. Passed two or three stations that had no-name gas for $3.459. Passed numerous stations in the $3.469-$3.499 range. A few stations were as high as $3.599 for 87 octane.
Sooooooooo glad to see the prices continuing to drop! It's like getting a much needed pay raise.
Tropical Storm Edouard made landfall east of us, and the impact here turned out to be beneficial. Several inches of much needed rain with no flooding (that I'm aware of) and cooler temperatures today. Can you believe it, the temperature was 74 degrees after noon? Awwwwwww ... I could get used to that! And, winds today weren't that bad. Plus, I didn't have to go to work today. Non-essential personnel were told not to report to work. Great! I'm NON-ESSENTIAL. Anyway ... and even though I'm non-essential ... today turned out to be a pretty good day.
However, I haven't checked the newspaper yet. Someone once told me the first thing they do after arising in the morning is to check the obituary in the newspaper. If their name isn't listed in the obituary column, they figured it was going to be a pretty good day. On second thought, I'm not going to check the newspaper today. This has been a happy day and I don't want to take a chance on ruining it. :)
Funny that you noticed the head tilt because that is one of the first things that I noticed too! Glad all is well in Deer Park. We'll see y'all tomorrow.
Looks like Tropical Storm Edouard is coming to pay us a visit.
Caught one of the outer bands driving home from church services this evening. Whew ... it sure was windy ... and raining hard!
Where's that snorkel? Has anyone seen my snorkel?
Update: Both vehicle gas tanks are full, and I've got 12 extra gallons of gas safely stored just in case we loose power for awhile. And, I've got some extra batteries, water, lights, and some battery-powered fans ... just in case. Anyway, sure hope we don't end up in Oz. If we do, I'm sure if we follow the yellow-brick road we'll be okay.
