Sometimes I can't help but read the obituaries and read about death. And sometimes death has the funniest way of taking its victims. Or have funny circumstances. As horrible as this sounds, don't think me rude. I understand the pain and suffering of the loved ones that get left behind, but at the same time....there is humor. For an example..
This story reads like something you'd see on the Twilight Zone. The fact that it really happened shows that too often, truth really is stranger than fiction.
A woman in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul has been killed in a tragic accident. But it wasn't a car that struck down the 67-year-old. It was a coffin - carrying the remains of her husband.
Marciana Barcelos was in the front passenger seat of a hearse on her way to her spouse's funeral when the vehicle suddenly came to a screeching halt in a traffic mishap, hurling the coffin at high speeds into the back of her neck.
It struck her with such force that the blow was instantly fatal.
Barcelos was on her way to bury her 76-year-old husband, who had died on Sunday from a heart attack while dancing at a party. The driver of the hearse and the victim's son suffered only minor injuries.
I guess you could say that her husband didn't wanna leave this earth alone and took his wife with him.
Sad....but really....what are THE ODDS!?
I hope this doesn't offend anyone. But I just wanted to post something different than just an update about my boring life. I found it interesting and like I said...what are the odds?
I didn't see that as sad!!! the dude died from a heart attack from dancing so the last thing he did before he had a heart attack was positive and the dudes wife was mourning the loss of her husband rigt before she died!!! kind of Romantic!!!
Hey everyone.
Hope you guys have a good holiday! :) Just thought I'd update you on how we'll be spending ours. Stephen is being a SWAT man. Westin is being a Dalmatian because my friend Serena is being Cruella Devil. And I am being a Vampire. We are gonna go trick or treating tonight and then Westin is going to go spend some time with his grandma while mommy and daddy and some of their friends go to a haunted house. :) should be fun. My friend Cory is gonna be Joker and I'm pretty sure it's gonna be sick. SOOOOO, I have bought him a pencil and I believe I'm gonna tie a ribbon on it and present it to him asking him to show me a magic trick. ( in order to get this, you would have had to seen the newest Bat Man movie). I get a call from my littlest brother today.
(phone rings)
Heather- Hello?
Jeremiah- Heder?
Heather- Hi Jeremiah?
Jeremiah- how'd you know its me?
Heather- I have magic powers
Jeremiah- MOM! MOM! Heder has magic powders
Heather- *laughs*
Jeremiah- Trick or treat, smell my feet, give me someTING good to eat.
Heather- I love smelling your feet
Jeremiah- No you don't
Heather- What are you being for Halloween?
Jeremiah- Spider man because he's the bestestest Hero.
Heather- Yeah, he's pretty cool
Jeremiah- pretty cool? he's coolerER than you.
To say the least, it was really funny and we always have the best conversations. Especially when I have NO IDEA what he's talking about, or when he doesn't pronounce things right. Hence why I misspelled a few words. Hope you guys enjoyed that.
Yesterday I went to David's bridal with my Maid of Honor-Serena, Bridesmaid/good friend Corrie, my siser-in law Beka and my mother in-law Cheryl. And I tried on dresses. It was so much fun. I went in thinking I wanted an A-line dress, satin with some bead work on the top and skirt. When I tried it on, I felt horrible in them. I felt like my hips were huge and who wants to feel that way on her wedding day, right? So I tried on a ballgown and fell in love. I tried on others but I knew the first one I tried on was the one. When I put it on, with the tiara and the veil, I could feel my eyes accumulate water as I saw myself in the mirror. I didn't want to take it off. I wore it until we HAD to leave. Here is a link to my dress. I will have pictures of ME in it later. I LOVE IT! It makes me feel like the most beautiful thing in the world. Which, really, isn't that what it's all about?
Just an update for you all. Westin's birthday is coming up. HIS FIRST BIRTHDAY! It makes me sad, but I'm excited at the same time. We're having it at Chuck E. Cheese. The theme is Sesame Street, so there is going to be alot of Elmo because thats his favorite. am also starting to plan our wedding ceremony. We are already married, but we didn't have time for a ceremony because we had to move to Denver. I am going to go look at Mt.Vernon event center today. http://www.mtvernoneventcenter.com/index.php
I'm hoping all goes well. I go to try on dresses on Wednesday just to kinda get an idea of what style/shape and design I want. I have a cake picked out. It's gonna be chocolate covered in fondant. I'll post a picture. But I'm still working on flowers. I have NO idea what to do there. And invitations are gonna be pretty easy I think. Westin and my little brother Jeremiah are going to be ring bearers. Jeremiah is gonna pull Westin in a wagon. And there are 2 girls at church who I've chosen as my flower girls. I have my bridesmaids picked out. My friend Serena is my maid of honor, and bridesmaids are my sister Heidi,my sister in-law Beka, and my friends Danielle and Corrie. 5 Bridesmaids. Thats a good number right? I'm really excited. I'm hoping I can get everything planned, relax, and then when it comes time for the wedding I'll have everything planned and know what I want so it won't be as stressful. At least that's what I'm hoping for. For those of you who had weddings, any suggestions for decorating, food, music, ect?
don't stress! for me i was worried about the little things until right up to about an hour or two before the wedding and then i was like 'i don't care.' 'its ok if that doesn't get done'. enjoy the moment. get lots of pictures.
The food and decorating depend on what time you have it and where. And of course expense. If you have a 'theme' in mind that will help with decorating if you want more than flowers or balloons and such. Food can be trays like we did, dessert only bar, more formal food served as a buffet. It depends on what you like.
haha i was like...scared for a second. those are hard to find. but i'm glad you are :) i wish i had done a little bit more on mine, like th neck line. but i did fix the back, it was low and so i got the alterations lady to sew like 5 pieces of ribbons together and then attach i to the back. it didn't look too tacky and i'm so glad i did that! it probably could have used another row of ribbon though.
oh, and the closer it got i was like...no food...we are just having cake. but my mom and gma put together some lunch meat tray things the day of...that was totally last minute, but i'm glad they did
The trays came from King Soopers. They do quite a variety and some different sizes. I don't know the prices but they have a brochure back in the deli counter. We liked the options better than Sam's Club or Costco and they made them at the time we needed and we could pick them up when we wanted.
Basically I just wanted to thank everyone for all their help, support, and prayers. Right when I thought that I was all alone and that no one cared, most of you stood up and helped me in so many ways. You strengthened, uplifted, and gave me hope. You all mean so much to me and I feel so blessed to have you all in my life. They say " when life gives you lemons, make lemonade". And that is exactly what you all did. You helped me to take my life's lemons and make lemonade. I don't want to name any names, but I'm sure you all know who you are. Thank you so much, I love all of you with all my heart.
Heather! Hey; awww you're never alone, you have alot of family and friends who care about you; sorry for missing your IM friday night; i was getting ready for my parents to come spend the weekend with us; good times.
