Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Seems like I've been busy!
A job possibility fell in my lap this week and I'm really excited about it. It is an Instructor position in the journalism department at the university here. They are hiring for 3 positions, so I feel that I have a pretty good shot at it. I'm not sure if it would be for this fall or not ( I kinda hope it isn't because that wouldn't give me much time to prepare for the classes, which begin Aug. 25 - it may be for spring semester). The classes would be beginning reporting and writing courses, which I could handle, since I have a master's degree in journalism. Even if I go to law school, one of my goals is to teach, so this would be a stepping stone for me along the way. Please pray that this works out for me, because I really need something better than tutoring!
Speaking of law school, I am in a holding pattern. I did well on the LSAT, but not as well as I would have liked. So I am trying to decide if to take it again, and if so, when. So much going on right now and so many decisions to make!
On another front, my brother Jacob and Anna are moving to Elizabethtown, Ky. at the end of the month. I hope to meet some new people in the Louisville/Bowling Green areas when I come to visit them.
Take care and try to stay cool during this HOT August weather!
Thanks for the welcome. Well, I am not exactly looking forward to that little party on Friday Night. I wish the party was for a different reason (Like a baby shower for you know who).
Hi Glenn! It's Tara, I'm also fairly new to Pleo and have been finding all kinds of folks I know. What's so cool is that we're all linked together through someone we know in common. I know you directly, but it's been years (maybe 13?) since I've seen you. Since Curtis and I left MS, we haven't been able to make it to Starkville very often. We are now in IL.
so how are you and your mom doing. Tell your mom I am sorry I haven't emailed her. I have started my classes and things have been a bit busy for me. Tell her I said hi and I miss her.
Tell your mom I got her card. She is so sweet and I sure am going to miss seeing her. I am going to try to email her. I just have been swamped with homework. Speaking of the "H" word. I better get started doing some. I have an assignment due tomorrow. Hope all is well with you guys. Tell your mom hello.
Good to hear from you. I know you had a good time in KY. I hope the preacher was on his best behavior and you didn't have to hear too many of his sermons while you were there.
Here goes...I'm new to Pleonast, although I've perused people's blogs for some time now. For those of you who know me as well as those of you who don't, an update on my life: I live in Oxford, MS and am currently tutoring college student-athletes in journalism classes. I'm also trying to get into law school. In fact, I just took the LSAT (the test to get in) this past Monday. I'll get my score on July 7, so we'll see! Keep your fingers crossed for me, please!
I'm sure alot of you know my brothers, Jacob and Isaac ("Ikey" to me!). They've both been on Pleonast for awhile and know a lot more folks than I do. I hope to meet new people on here, as well as perhaps reconnect with old friends from the past. So, if you know me or even if you don't, send me a comment. I would love to hear from you!
Hi, Glenn! Welcome to Pleo! Isaac is a dear friend of ours...he even sang in our wedding! We miss him lots though. Tell him he needs to come visit us! :) Have fun on here!
Hello! My name is Jenn. I'm one of Isaac's friends.I've known him for several years now. Welcome to the Nast! Take care! Have a great Lord's Day tommorrow!:)
