Baptizo:
to dip repeatedly, to immerse, to submerge (of vessels sunk)
to cleanse by dipping or submerging, to wash, to make clean with water, to wash one's self, bathe
to overwhelm
Not to be confused with 911, bapto. The clearest example that showsthe meaning of baptizo is a text from the Greek poet and physicianNicander, who lived about 200 B.C. It is a recipe for making picklesand is helpful because it uses both words. Nicander says that inorder to make a pickle, the vegetable should first be 'dipped'(bapto) into boiling water and then 'baptised' (baptizo) in thevinegar solution. Both verbs concern the immersing of vegetables in asolution. But the first is temporary. The second, the act ofbaptising the vegetable, produces a permanent change. When used in the New Testament, this word more often refers to ourunion and identification with Christ than to our water baptism. e.g.Mark 16:16. 'He that believes and is baptised shall be saved'.Christ is saying that mere intellectual assent is not enough. Theremust be a union with him, a real change, like the vegetable to thepickle! I'm glad you like it. Most of my Auburn fan friends have been doing that. I totally understand you being true to your school. I hope everything is going well for you. :)
Andrew and I made family visits this past weekend to my parents' house on Friday night and Saturday and to his parents' house on Sunday. We had a really great time! Mom and I got to enjoy spending time together without making frantic decisions about wedding plans. We went and had our toes and nails done and then went and had coffee together at Starbucks (we highly recommend the punkin spice and cream cheese muffin :p ) After that we went to Edgar's Bakery and just looked around. We might have been a little emotionaly, I don't know, but I ended up buying Dad a somewhat mushy wall decoration (not so much his style) and Mom teared up at everything she read. She also managed to slip in that if I "accidentally" had a baby soon, "Wouldn't it be cute to decorate your little girl's room in the trailer with this..." She quickly took it back though ;) Anyway, we saw the most adorable picture that had my new favorite quote on it:
"If you live to be one hundred, I hope to live to be one hundred minus one day, so I never have to live without you."
--Winnie the Pooh
Edgar's is AWESOME! Did you buy you dad a wall decoration from Edgar's?! He might have preferred their famous carrot cake. :) We may come visit Auburn soon...
....got me two tickets for the Broadway production of the PHANTOM OF THE OPERA at the BJCC on October 13 for my birthday!!! He said that I could take anyone I want with me, but he actually would like to go, so, of course, I want to go with him!! I think we will go to the Cheese Cake Factory for dinner that night! I'm so excited! YIIIPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEE!
Phantom of the Opera AND the Cheesecake Factory. Man. That is like my dream date. Did I tell you that the kids and I are going to Disney in a couple of weeks?
WAIT, WHAT?! PHANTOM'S COMING WHERE?!?!?!?! I'VE SEEN IT TWICE...ONCE ON THE FRONT ROW! I WANNA GO AGAIN!!! I KNOW THIS IS OVERWHELMING IN ALL CAPS BUT WHERE IS IT?!
We are back from our honeymoon/vacation/one week hiatus from life/ most wonderful and relaxing trip of my life. Thank you to everyone that left me encouraging messages on Pleonast- I am just now reading them because before the wedding got kinda hectic, so I am sorry for the lack of response. I am loving being Mrs. Andrew Hall!! I never imagined married life being this great! Although we are back to the crazy real life of school and work, etc., I feel so peaceful! I have resumed my "nesting" as I try to fit two people's living neccessities (plus some non-neccessities) into our very small trailer. My brother-in-law's girlfriend came over and was helping me try to find a place to put things- we both just kinda stood in the middle of the room with an "I don't know what to do" look on our faces. It's fun, though, because it means that we are a family, and we are working through things together! I hear that the name change process is pain, but I can't wait to get it moving! Evidentally, I have to have the official marriage license to start the process.
Andrew and I have been so blessed by the help and support of so many people! Thank you all for your contributions that made our marriage possible! Also, thank you to all of you that came to the wedding. I wish that I could have talked to everyone longer, but we can talk more if you come see us! Please come visit anytime! We still like hanging out with friends even though we are married (contrary to popular thought- we aren't old fuddy duds now- ha).
To say I know how you're feeling is an understatement! Trying to fit all your stuff into a trailer is always interesting; I just starting stuffing things in my closet and under the bed. Honeymoons are the best, and so is being married! I would love to go to dinner with you...just name the date. Love you!
btw, don't forget to change your name with social security. B/c I didn't work outside of the home when I married, I didn't know you were supposed to do this. I didn't find out until Bruce died that I was still B. J. Hartsell in the system.
...and i'm adjusting ok... i do miss tampa though. :o) it was home for so long! i'm glad you're coming to the party! it's been awhile since i've done one! :o)
i will come shoot skeet. but i'm really bad because my gun is too big for me. but it's my granddaddy's gun that he gave me, so i'm just gonna learn how to do it
I always thought that I would be terrified about being married until I said, "I do," and then I would be relieved because the decision would be final. I guess I am just so unsure of myself that I have difficulties trusting my decisions. Anyway, I was wrong. Many people have been asking me if I am nervous about the upcoming wedding. The truth is, I am not in the least bit nervous. I know that I am so blessed, and that this is the best decision of my life behind my decision to be a Christian. That assurance makes me feel like I'm on top of the world!! September 7, 2007 cannot come quick enough. Everyone used to tell me that I would be a bridezilla, but I can't wait for the fun begins. I really don't care about the details of the wedding as long as my family and friends are there and as long as everyone is happy and having fun!! I am so blessed by my family, by my bridesmaids (of honor), by my friends, and by my wonderful fiance. He's with his family at the river until Sunday- I miss him so much!!
we just came back from the follow up visit. Everything is going according to schedule... so if she stays on target, she should feel much better in a week. She is still pretty swollen and sore right now. As for my weekend... call me. :)
Hey Emily, it was good seeing you too. Connie Fran just kind flipped it up some. Nothing as fancy as what BJ did :o Hey send me an e-mail so I can get your e-mail address & then I will give you my home address. If you don't mind. I had rather do it that way. My e-mail is on my blog. Hope the plans are still going well. Take care, Reese
I am so happy for you guys and can't wait to be there this weekend!! I hope the nerves don't kick in right before you walk down the isle... :) I know you will do great!
Found "BravesLive" show! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXRVTJaYPZw (This is great. We have it saved on TiVo) We will be watching the game August 31. Also you and Andrew will be in our thoughts and prayers on your wedding day! Can't wait to see wedding pictures!
Best wishes on the wedding and a lifetime of joy!!!! (Don't know either of you but have been following your story .... glad you are keeping it all in perspective!) We are friends of hers from FC
Hi Emily, I've met you at Pepper Road before (and have known Andrew's family for most of my life) and saw few of your wedding pictures on her blog. You looked beautiful.
