- living near our closest friends, hanging out, and having a good laugh

- a "bigger" group of faithful Christians in the local church

- a 20-minute drive to work (& cheaper gas)

- a working clothes dryer

- getting at least 6 hours of sleep every night for a week

This is just a short list of things I have really missed lately. It's amazing how we have so many things at different points in our life that we completely take for granted. I am definitely blessed and have survived without these things, but I surely didn't realize how important they were until they were gone. Have a good Wednesday!

Oh yeah, Happy News!:

greeneyesI really admire you and Brandon! Chris and I had an "interesting" few years when we first got married. We look back on those days with fond memories. I still ask Chris from time to time "did I really wash my clothes at a laundramat (sp?)". I hope one day soon ya'll are able to get closer to us....until then I think you have a great attitude about it all. Just think one day you will have kids and probably stay home with them all day.... you might actually wish for an hour in the morning to drive somewhere by yourself!!!!
auntleleAll are which you have to look forward to in the future too. I don't know how you do it driving 1.5 hours both way each day. I will say I'm actually looking forward to my upcoming 45 minute drive to work. It will give me time to de-stress in the evenings.
quincysmomSometimes it is good to realize what things we take for granted b/c you end up appreciating things/situations/people more. Just remember that "there is a light at the end of the tunnel." :) Love ya!
quincysmomWhat cha doing Friday?
rica5219I miss your sweet face!!!!!
this_old_manThose are hilarious! I like the doggy airplane. :)
rica5219I'm at both places! :(
lastoflakewoodGlad you got to spend the night with us! Sorry it was kind of hectic.
auamyAnd we miss you guys!
the_rainy_dogOh, yeah! Being out here I can come up with somethings that I took for granted. A bigger yard, clearer skies, etc. There are probably things here that I take for granted as well...My family, my dog, my freedom, etc. And, hey, now they make DARK CHOCOLATE NESTLE CRUNCH! ;-) I hope that God blesses you quite richly in the way He sees fit.

Oh...and on a more goofy note. You've been tagged by me. ;-P
squishydaisiesOur move made me miss a lot of things too, that I took for granted or thought i would have here in Texas and ended up not getting. I hope you feel better soon!
squishydaisiesI wish we could go visit you all at church whenever we wanted too!
quincysmomThanks for letting us come and visit today!
ilovepondsYou'll look back one day and really appreciate so much more what you have at that time. There are lots of ups and downs before you get settled more permanently. Good luck!

This day just got SO much better... 09-30-08 09:26am CST
I just discovered (thanks to my co-worker's bowl of chocolate goodies) that they now make DARK CHOCOLATE NESTLE CRUNCH!!!

Feeling Crafty 09-27-08 02:25pm CST
Today my friend Melanie turned 7 years old and I was invited to her birthday party. I knew she would get all kinds of Webkins and Littlest Pets, so I decided to make her a present or two. I found this super cute reversible purse pattern online, so this is what hers turned out like (one picture of each side, click to enlarge):

I also made her a hairbow/hair clip/earring holder, and I got her a package of the clear window catchers you paint yourself. I remember doing those when I was younger. Here is a picture of her hair thingamabob:

(the colors didn't show up in the picture well at ALL. It was purple, green, and pink, with a yellow ribbon).

I made a few others too and will gladly sell them for a few bucks or give them as gifts...

(My photography skills are horrible...the colors are much better, I promise!)

this_old_manYou got skillz! So you sew, huh? :)
auntleleThose are soooo cute!!! Great job!
bootymusicmamaYou're so crafty.
quincysmomI am impressed. My little girl is so crafty!

squishydaisiesOh, Melanie (that is little Melanie from church right?) is really going to like those!
aucowgirllook at you go girl!
quincysmomI got to bed about 12:30. I think I need to clean out the dryer hose. Maybe dad can do it before I do my laundry next.
the_rainy_dogOh, good job, Em! That's nice. Mel will like them. =D
barkleybbThey look good. I like the bag.
rica5219You need to come visit. I miss you!

Extra-Terrestrials coming to Alabama! 09-24-08 08:29am CST
Blossom Goodchild is a "direct voice channeling medium" who lives in Australia. She gets her messages from a Native Indian, "White Cloud", and then Blossom passes it on to the rest of the world. Apparently Blossom received word from White Cloud that he heard from the aliens and they are coming to Alabama on October 14, 2008! You can read all about it, including the "direct message" HERE.

Happy days and "golden rays" to all! ;o)
alexY'all get all the cool visitors, I'll never forget when Alabama was visited by Leprechauns. I wonder why they don't visit Texas?

this_old_manHeeHee! Look at any construction site in the US, and you'll see a lot of aliens! :)
spimmanYou think they'll stick around for Halloween?
teachin2kidsIf I could go back and do things that way...I so would... unfortunately the need to have things now and do things now instead of practiving patience has gotten us- me included into sticky situation! I'm proud of you for attempting to "do it the right way!"
aucowgirlhhahahahahah i heard about that on rick and bubba. its hilarious!
joanied!!! That's Tiff's Due Date !!!
merWeird.

Two years ago today he asked me to marry him. =) In honor of this date, he will see the doctor today to get his stitches out. =)

I have the greatest friends in the world. Last Thursday I had the rare opportunity to spend some quality time with my Auburn girls: Amy, Rachel, Stacy, Melanie, & Erin. I'm so grateful to have such wonderful Christian girlfriends and I miss getting to spend time with all of them together!

When I returned home from my visit with the girls, my wonderful hubby surprised me with flowers and double stuf oreos. WOOHOO! =)

My parents are in Vegas & the Grand Canyon this week celebrating their 30th anniversary. I hope they take some good pictures and have a safe trip home Thursday.

We (me, Brandon, mom, dad, & Drew) are going to Indiana this weekend. (I got my dad a shirt a few years ago for Christmas that says "Hoosier Daddy". Ha!) My grandmother (dad's mom) is turning 80 and we are having a huge surprise party for her. This will be the first time in forever that ALMOST the whole family will be together (this side of the family is HUGE). I'm very excited to get to meet my cousin Brady (Rhiannon's baby) for the first time...he is almost ONE!!!

What are your plans for this Labor Day weekend (besides watching football)?

magicalkingdoms.com Ticker
deanneWe are headed to Atlanta for our niece's birthday....for which I have to make the cake! :)
barkleybbStaying home and doing nothing!
auntleleMovies with the girls Friday night, house looking and cookout to watch the State game (yes, I'm being the good fiancĂ©e, oh that is soooo weird to say that), and I guess maybe some wedding planning.
deanneI am making her a Webkinz cake with pictures of all 5 webkinz that she owns....in the order that she got them (she was very specific in what she wanted) :)
auamyAwe, have fun this weekend!! 2 years ago today, your husband called me to see where he should get roses. haha I really enjoyed Thursday night. We are surely blessed to have one another.
rica5219AUBURN FOOTBALL!!!! :)))))
greeneyesTwo years ago today, my parents saw ya'll at the Fish Market and Brandon told them he was going to hopefully be engaged by the end of the evening! I am planning on watching bunches of football this weekend. We sold our Auburn tickets so we could stay home and watch the Alabama game! We are also going to be getting ready for our beach trip.
greeneyesI am hoping to watch Alabama lose! :-) We are headed to Destin next Saturday (6th).
aucowgirlyay i had so much fun!!!!!!!!!!
lastoflakewoodGlad you came Thursday!
teachin2kidsGulf Shores yeah!!!!
wordwielderOk, I've never seen a Disney ticker before. Awesome!
melbucI'm really glad you were there...thanks for "neglecting your husband," as Erin put it =)
the_rainy_dogThank-you for sharing with me blessings that we have! And there's nothing wrong with stating more than one blessing. We have so many of them! =)
I have heard of Stephanie Meyer's series. It's fairly popular among teenagers, and I've even looked through some of them. I had some doubts for the series but I've heard and read of a few people's opnion that I might just be driven to give it a try. Besides! I'm trying to read more anyway! =)
aucowgirldude, melanie, check the private comment box next time you quote some gay thing i said lol.
this_old_manThanks for posting I know who you are! You came to Auburn! War Eagle! The RV's are already on campus. Tomorrow it will be a zoo!
this_old_manI'm in the same boat. My brother got his MBA at Alabama and my dad played football at Alabama back in the 30's. So I say War Eagle as loud as I can. :)
quincysmomWe're HOME!!!!!!!!! It is SO nice to hear people speaking English. We were around too many foreign speaking people.
lastoflakewoodHope y'all had a wonderful trip!
