As you can see I have been a bad Pleonaster lately. Back in July I started a
blogger blog and have found it easier to keep up with my life there. If you are interested you can keep up with me there.
This week we have Vacation Bible School for the kids at church. The lesson for the adults this morning was on diligence. Examples were made about how the ants and bees are so diligent in their work to gather food. This afternoon I was looking for something to take a picture of around the house that would make a good birthday card. I took a few shots of a rose, then saw my favorite blooming tree in our backyard. Looking up at the tree I saw tons of bumblebees swarming around the tree. I followed this one bee around for a few minutes, until I got the perfect shot. So the thoughts from today's lesson and the picture I took, provided me with the perfect sentiments for Jonathan's Grandmother's birthday card.
That is funny because we were talking about that last night and what we would do if we had that many kids. I cannot imagine having that many at once. I have no idea how you have any time to do anything but change diapers and feed. Imagine the huge car you would need.
your daughter is sooo cute! well, im not married yet, but i'll have to keep ya posted on that one! ;) but yes I do live in Cali near my wonderful boyfriend :)
Hey Elizabeth! This is Heather (Berendt) Gray. I stumbled across you and just wanted to say hi. Your daughter is beautiful! I have two girls. One is 3 1/2 and the other is 8 weeks. I have some good material for kids on ants too. What a fun study!
I do have my hands full but it's actually not as hard to have two as everyone warned me it would be! I am really enjoying it. Maleia, my baby, is a very easy going girl so that makes it easier for me!
--My husband never gets any fun holidays off like this. The transportation industry unfortunately doesn't shut down for anything. This begins week 4 of Jonathan's new job. I have never seem him so busy or work so hard. Even on the days he gets to come home to "relax" on the weekends he is still constantly on the phone or computer at all hours fixing problems, helping supervisors, etc. I must say that I admire his attitude toward all this. He really hasn't complained too much about the initial work load. He can see through the start up and knows things can run smoother. Even though he is not employeed by Target I still think it would be cool to be compensated with a family discount or something.
--Monday is usally my day to get things done. I made my grocery store trip for the week, sprayed poison on poison ivy (we've got a ton in natural areas of yard), Mom helped trim back bushes, packed 2 boxes, started Savannah's 10 month scrapbook layout, ran 2 miles, ate my All-American hamburger in honor of Memorial Day with my parents, finally got my parents to watch the first episode of season 1 of 24. It took the cable being out to convince my Dad to open the box set he got for Christmas. After 2 episodes he commented how easily it would be to get locked into the plot. I guess he will be borrowing the following seasons soon.
--Good New/Bad News
We have an agreed upon contingent offer on a house in Madison. We were hoping to find a new house for our next move, but I found a 7 year old resale that we just couldn't pass up. It has everything that we were looking for in a house at a reasonable price, and it is in the perfect location. Although it is amazing how outdated fixtures become in such a short time period; little things we can fix along the way. Of course I fell in love with the quiantness of "Liberty Square" since I love the colonial time period. Our house to be is on Paul Revere Road.
The bad news is that we must receive an offer on our house by June 30. We have had a lot of people seem interested, but no offer. The showings have slacked off since the beginning of our listing which has concerned our realtor. He thinks we should drop the price to be more competative. It's almost been 4 weeks, but there are just way too many houses on the market in the area to compete with. I guess in the long run a small loss is worth it for our family to be together again.
Savannah turned 1 year old 3 weeks ago and I finally got around to taking her to Botanical Gardens on Friday to take her picture. I got some good shots, but this crooked grin has got to be my favorite.
Not much is new around here. Our house has been on the market for 1 1/2 weeks now. We had a lot of showings right at first, but we haven't heard to much the past few days. We did have 2 positive showings, but no offers yet. This week begins week 2 of Jonathan working in Madison and Savannah and I being in Birmingham. I plan to spend a few days in Madison this week continuing the house hunt. I allowed Savannah to pull out all her toys and make a mess today while I have been sitting on the couch playing on the computer all day.
Any mothers treated nicely yesterday? Jonathan went and got me something Sat, but then totally forgot to give it to me yesterday. I even reminded him last night. I was a little sad this morning. I guess he has had a lot on his mind with the new job start up and traveling back and forth.
That is the cutest picture! I love that smile. She looks like she is so content and happy. I hope you find a house soon. I am sorry Jonathan forgot to give you your gift. That happened to me this year. Bradley did not even get me a card, gift, or even a note for our anniversary.
She is so cute! I think that her and Rebecca look alike. They are so sweet. I want to see them playing together! Good luck with the house selling/hunting.
great picture. I can't believe it is so clear so big. You must have a great camera. Good luck selling your house. We just sold after 7 months on the market. Biggest thing we learned was price it competitevly. Fix every minor thing you can afford to fix without hesitation, and use a realtor that specializes in your neighborhood. For 6 months our first realtor didn't show the house herself even once. When that contract was finally up, the new realtor had our house sold in 3 weeks.
Hi, I got to visit with Savannah some today she would not let me hold her though, she is sooo cute. Hope all goes well with selling your house and your upcoming house hunt!
