Ok...I'm sorry if I offened anyone but Barack Obama isn't good enough to run the country. Given he did make history, he still doesn't salute our flag, he won't be "sworn in" on the Bible, but the Koran(spelling?)... so... im really a little upset. P.S. WICKER ROCKS!
enough politics. let's see,... MARCHING SEASON IS O-V-E-R! I'm so happy... although tomorrow is Friday i will be so lost..
i haven't been at school the last 2 days and i won't be going tomorrow. I'm sick... ive got a sinus infection, but i went to the doctor today and they gave me a shot... a nasty shot... ugh ='(... so anyways.

Well we have had one very short week. we had monday and tuesday off from school (fall break). Wednesday we did hardly anything. We did have a meeting btw. 3rd and 4th periods to discuss student council this year. I got a petition and got it signed but I won't know if I'm on the council until after next tuesday. We have 2 more football games left. Tomorrow we go to Nettleton.
Saturday we are having Kaylee's birthday party and then after that the church is having a halloween thing down at the White House (not the one in Washington D.C. by the way). It's going to be fun.

but that is in the past. now we are preparing for the Chunky River Festival in Union next saturday. Please wish us luck.
Gospel Meeting: we had a gospel meeting at our church this past week. Mr. Joel Ellis came and spoke and for those of you who know him he is an absolutley amazing speaker. i got a lot out of it. Next week there is a meeting at North Jackson Street (liz's church) and Mr. Blasingame(spelling?) is speaking there.i'm going to try to make it a few nights..
Mr. Bo: I'm sure Mr. and Mrs. Dow will remember Bo Young and for others who know him know he isn't doing well. he is very sick. after school yesterday, i went to see him. i almost started crying when i saw him. he's in a hospital bed and he can barely speak. he knew who i was though and i could tell he was glad to see me. (please keep him in your prayers)
Kaylee will be one year old this coming thursday! :) she's already walking and she is the most adorable thing... i wish you guys could see her. :)
Yesterday could have went so much better. Yesterday was Aberdeen Contest. We got to Aberdeen a full hour and a half early and everyone was nervous and ready to go but we had to wait around. When we finally went to warm up, Mr. Shirey our band director was the CALMEST one of the whole band. so we go through warm up pretty fast and start heading to the field. Once we got on the field... that was the "point of NO return"
The pit set up their instruments, colorguard set their flags, and the band got on to the field. Jordan (our drum major) called us to attention once she was on the podium and there was NO stopping until we got done with the show.
The first song was EXCELLENT from the band and I dropped my flag once but that was it. The 2nd song is where it got off. I dont think some people were counting and everyone sounded fairly flat. The 3rd song FELL apart!
when the 2nd song ends the drums are knelt down on one knee infront of the colorguard and normally Jordan gives them enough time to get up before the 3rd song starts (which begins with a 2 measure drum break). Jordan, however, didn't give the drummers enough time to get up and turn around so the first 8 measures of the 3rd song, there was complete silence... the bad kind.
Fortunatley the band was counting and most of them came in at the right time but it through everyone off.
We ended up with these scores:
Drum major: 1
Drum Line: 2
Colorguard: 1
Band: "1 oh i'm sorry 2" 2, 2,2, with an overall of 2.
we were so mad but now we have to step up to beat ripley next week at tupelo (if you know the rivalry btw. Ripley and Houston, you'll know why...lol)
most of them came in? you're kidding. it was so obvious... some played like two notes and then stopped... it took us like seven measures to get the whole band going. and the trumpets sounded absolutely HORRIBLE on the second song. hopefully, our indoor sessions with the pit have helped. they seem to. austin's been conducting it mostly, but with my help somewhat.
