It is quite enjoyable to watch a young horse buck, especially if you are not on it. Today was Jackie's first day in a saddle and it took her a little time to get used to it. She jumped and hopped and scooted around the round pen a couple of times and them decided that it was a waste of energy and not nearly as fun as breathing. She decided to stand still and catch her breath and let me scratch her ears. She then did everything I asked her to without bucking and got to graze outside the fence in tall grass still in the saddle. I foresee a bridle and a rider in the near future. Maybe I can talk Dianne into the first ride. Not!
Too bad I'm not there to be the first victim. Got your call the other day- sorry I forgot to call on Monday. I talked to a special ed teacher I know and she is going to put in a good word for me with the right person. Turns out a committee hires- not the principal. That's about what is going on here. ttyl.
Glad you were able to see him. He feels the other congergation is more like Alief. When he decided where he wanted to go, your family was the only hold on him. He enjoys being with you. Thanks.
Ike skirted by us with just a few inches of rain and a few trees blown down. We actually could have used more rain to end the drought we have been experiencing. Areas to our east were hit much harder. It has been an interesting week since our city gets it's electricity from areas to the east and our transmission lines were damaged . Caldwell was without electricity for five days. We did have water thanks to the city's generators. But nearly every business in town was closed. The grocery store, Walmart, the gas stations, were all powerless(literally).Thankfully, we had cooler temperatures and did not miss the AC much. We also had plenty of warning and had flashlights and batteries and non perishable food. Schools were closed resulting in an unexpected vacation. Surprisingly, it was almost nice in some ways to be forced to slow down. It is sad to think of those who lost homes and loved ones. But even this seems beneficial in helping one to think less about selfish desires and more about the needs of others.
Please email me (email address on my home page) a dedication, thought or scripture that you would like put on the dedication page of the cookbook. We are also encluding camp directors etc. Thanks.
My sweet wife bought me a radio for our tractor. What a great idea. It will be great to listen to the Ags while shredding and doing other odd jobs. The only problem is installation. Installation is supposed to be idiot proof. But I am not sure that the manufacturers are aware of the caliber of idiot they are dealing with. I think I am going to have to find some reinforcements.
Somehow I think my daddy use to listen to Aggie games while on the tractor. Of course at that time they were known as "the fumbling Aggies". I know Jared will enjoy the games.
OK. Maybe idiot is too strong a term. How about "mechanically challenged". The good news is that I have a friend who built his own airplane-- talk about definitely NOT mechanically challenged. He got me started last night after services and Dianne and I finished it up this evening and it works!

Work is going. I take then engine heads off the end of the line for Chrysler. It's a really mindless job, but it pays the bills, so I'm not complaining. Thankfully it doesn't come with all of the stress that an assembly job has.
Hi, I am Jessica's (Holly's roomate from FC last year) mom. I found your site through the FCparents site. I have been wanting to thank you and your wife for raising such an amazing daughter. Holly was such a blessing to us, when Jessica was in the hospital, last year and we could not be there. We are very grateful for her kindness and caring for Jessica.
Thank you so much! If you all are ever in a need of a home to stay in here, we have 2 empty bedrooms. It's the only time in our lives when I've been able to leave those bedroom doors open and not be embarrassed!
Fences. Shredding. More fences. Culverts, burning brush piles before it gets too dry. Gates and you guessed it, fences. Also some good books and Bible classes. And last but not least... swimming in the water trough with my favorite person in 72 degree water.
This school year has flown by and it seems as if each month has gone faster. The last month is especially busy and seems like the shortest. In one way that seems ironic: more to do and less time to do it. In another way there is probably a correlation. Busy days do go by faster.
Of course years (and decades)seem to be getting shorter too. I am thinking that has something to do with my wife and children getting older (unlike me):)
