"And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified." Acts 20:32
Im pretty sure my parents have me covered..i think.
You did a great job preaching last Sunday night at North Bibb.Even though I've heard that lesson before somewhere...
It started out that I was just to be with the congregation at South Tuscaloosa for the summer... now it's until further notice...
The work there is so encouraging. The congregation is located in the lower income section of Tuscaloosa, but we get many visitors from the community.
The work is small, but I believe we are doing a good work in that area of the city...
If you would keep Sis. Bobbie Rutland in your prayers. She is a member there at South Tuscaloosa and one of the most godly women I've ever met. A few days ago she fell and broke her hip. Her spirits are still high, and she is doing better, but please pray for her continued progress.
Work is good. Trying to stay busy.
It has been quiet at the house... Azleigh went to GEMS and my little brothers went to the grandparents so it's been a little less hectic at the house.

My first year of college was grand. While my grades were...um... sub-par, it was potentially the greatest 9 months of my life.
The greatest thrill of my first year in college was the opportunity to work as a "PIT" (preacher in training) with the Elgin Hills church of Christ. I studied with Bro. Philip Owens, a man who I believe is doing all he can to get to heaven and take all he can with him. This was a wonderful privilege and I learned so much that will help me come to more of a knowledge of Christ and how I can grow to be more like Him.
The congregation at Elgin Hills is a wonderful group of God's people. I will be indebted forever for the opportunities they gave me to work with them for these past few months. The words of encouragement and the words of advice will linger with me for the rest of my life.
First and foremost, I am grateful to our Heavenly Father for the blessings, privileges, and opportunities that He has so richly bestowed upon me, both physically, and infinitely greater, spiritually through Christ Jesus.
For a few months I will go back to Columbus, MS, and begin a new chapter in my life.
The congregation at South Tuscaloosa is in an interim period between full-time preachers. I have been given the opportunity to go and to work with that congregation during the summer months. I am so thrilled with the opportunity to work with a congregation of God's faithful on a somewhat full-time basis.
In these efforts I beg for your prayers, and any advice you may have.
South Tuscaloosa is where Henry and I meet. Glad you will get to work with the church there, they are a geat group of people, if your preaching in anything like your grandfather and greatgrandfather then you have to be good and I know they will enjoy having you work with them.
I know when you were saying all those nice things about "the congregation" you really meant me, you just didn't want me to get the big head!HA! We miss you and hope you're having a good summer. We had the party for the graduates Sun. night. It was fun, but not the same without you - so we just talked about you instead!HA! Hope to see you soon.
