Is Creationism Scientific? 08-14-08 11:44pm CST
The accusation has often been made that creationism is not scientific. And evolutionism, of course, is. After all, today it’s common to believe that most scientists are evolutionists. So, is evolutionary thinking responsible for all the great scientific advances, or can creationists take the credit?

Ironically, every major branch of science: astronomy, chemistry, microbiology, etc., was established upon the work of creationists. In fact, today’s evolutionists are merely standing on an entire mountain of work built by creationists. While the evolutionist assumes his theory is true in spite of “trivial” elements of science (such as the first two laws of thermodynamics, Boyle’s gas laws, and biogenesis), the creationist understands that science was established by God, and thus seeks to follow the clues in God’s creation that help him better understand the natural world. To a creationist, science and the Bible were both authored by God: he therefore has no problem accepting the scientific method of observation to further validate that which he takes on faith.

The early scientists—whose ranks include the likes of Galileo, Sir Isaac Newton, Johannes Kepler, and Robert Boyle—believed in an intelligent Designer/Creator who laid down not only laws of conduct for humanity, but also for nature. With this common understanding in mind, they then set about to identify and explore these laws of nature. This search resulted in the revolution of scientific information we now enjoy and the establishment of the major branches of scientific understanding. So the idea that creationists are not scientific is absurd. It mocks the great heritage of creationists that modern science harks back to—and upon whose work modern science now rests. Evolutionists allow evolutionism to govern their exploration of the natural world to the detriment of science, while creationists continue to merely demonstrate how the God of the Bible is also the true Architect of what we call science.

I really like this... 08-09-08 12:58am CST
2008 Beijing Olympics Song

thewandererNo need to apologize. I did see your second comment before you deleted it, and I'd just like to add that in a conservative, ruled-based (whether implicit or explicit) brand of Christianity, that mindset is easily developed. I know I'm not the only one who has thought that way. I thought addressing it would help move the discussion forward for those who are still struggling with it.
thewandererAnd I must admit that after reading my comment on your previous post it seems as if I came off curt and dismissive, which I certainly didn't mean to. Blasted quick-thought text communication; tone and subtlety are hard to convey.
aucowgirli love me some sarah brightman. i actually have one of her cd from her singing all the andrew loyd webber songs. well not all but a lot of the biggest ones.
ironicThat was great.
ckoehler13Not much longer now!
goodetwoshoesYeah, that's what I get for napping during the day. I'm just so exhausted though, I can't keep my eyes open. Plus, I had to stay awake to watch the Olympics - no DVR, you know! Except for Phelps, it wasn't worth watching - the U.S. ladies gymnasts blew their chance for the gold! Guess silver isn't too shabby! :) As soon as the medal ceremony is over, I'm off to bed! Night!

Pride... 08-05-08 11:54pm CST
I would like to publicly apologize for my recent spat of Pridefullness lately. Things have really started to finally go really well for Kelly, Max and I. It sure does sneak up on you. I didn't realize how bad it was until I received a lovingly gestured and might I add WELL DESERVED cold shoulder from another Christian (who shall remain nameless) Because they cared enough to let me know that I had let my recent good fortune go to my head a bit too much. Thank you BTW. There is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for my behavior and I ask for all your prayers and forgiveness for this. This is something that I struggle with a lot and I let my guard down for just a moment and it seems that was all it took to cause offense. If I ever give any indication in the future that my pride makes it's appearance in a way that might cause my soul to be blackened again PLEASE STOP ME and open my eyes that I can see clearly. I never want my pridefullness to harm my relationship with God or my brother's and sister's or anyone for that matter again.

With sincere Godly sorrow,

Chad :*(
thewandererThat's interesting, because I didn't think any of it was depressing and I was raised in a Christian home and baptized when I was 11.

Wonderful Service Today!!! 07-27-08 10:52pm CST
We had a Praise Service today and IT...WAS...AWESOME!!!

A different person got up and lead the congregration in Psalms...Hymns...Spiritual Songs...Exhortations...Prayer, and of course the Lord's Supper.

Everyone did great. I was given the priveledge to pray a prayer of Praise...I was soooo nervous but I just zoned out and started praying like I do on my own sometimes. I hated that I had to stop and wish I could have kept going but something reminded me that I should keep it short and I started to stumble on my words so I wrapped it up. I was even crying...especially when I mentioned how grateful we are for our children. Then I was having a hard time keeping it together. But all in all everyone else did great! Ruth Gard said to me once that I would make a great preacher if I could keep myself from crying in the pulpit...I think I told her to not hold her breath.:)

Anyhoo...Have a good night!
truthmeSometimes at our church people cry during the prayers too... (either that, or it is their eyes watering from yawning).
I'm glad you were all lifted up, and saw a glimpse of the glory of God today. sounds like a great service.
goodetwoshoesHey, you beat me to it! I was going to post about this too! It was an awesome service! As I told you last night, your prayer was very heartfelt and sincere!
timrosenAMEN to that!!!! I have been thinking about it since I left! Tears are good things sometimes.....especially during prayers! I kinda dig sitting in the way back!!! Get to see everyone! Thank you for that prayer man....I almost busted out our "Anchor" refrence to each other....but figured that would take longer than 5 min itself to give the full explanation! You continue to help in ways you don't know brother!
timrosenDennis, Cory, Tim, and I need to go out and have a GIGANTIC STEAK or maybe go out and kill an animal and clean it just to remind him who he is." THIS IS CLASSIC!!! Cannot tell you how much this makes me LAUGH! NICE!
goodetwoshoes^Tim hadn't realized the estrogen overload here at the house till I mentioned it Sunday night! It's so true! Take that boy out, have him eat steak with his hands, rip it to bits with his teeth, make him grunt! Talk Hank all night! You think I'm kidding! Please! Do something!! :)
rebeccabloomThe trailer is out!!!!!
