I can't believe how few times I get to post on here anymore. We're so covered up these days that posting on here is nearly impossible. But, here goes...
The kids are doing really well. Malachi is 2 and shy as ever. He knows his NT books of the Bible and loves to say them. He's tall and skinny just like I was when I was a kid. Unfortunately, that all went down hill when I learned more about meat...oh well.
As for Caitlyn, she's a ton of fun. She's chunky, short, and never stops talking. She's already grabbed onto the concept of good eats and has some nice rolls to show for it.
Lisa is working very hard with me to get ready for the baby and has become and amazing wife and mother. She's done an incredible job with the kids recently and is a real blessing. Her work with the couples we're ministering to has been amazing. You'd never know she's as young as she is by the counsel she's given. Praise God for wisdom and discernment!
We've added some new stuff to the Rise of the Home site recently to help the couples we're serving on a bigger scale. We added a "Desperate for Help" page and a page for our "Couples Coaching". We're busier and busier and see the fruit of the hard work. It's a real blessing to be doing this work hand in hand with my wife.
The baby is due in November, but given the last two were born three weeks early and the frequent contractions already, it's likely we'll see our new baby boy sometime in October. Please pray for things to continue to go well.

Please pray. We've had several extremely intense situations arise of the last day with Rise of the Home. These husbands and wives need the peace that comes through Christ in more ways than you could ever imagine and they're completely overwhelmed.
Pray for them to be humble and for the Spirit to lead all of it.
Thanks, guys.
BTW, Caitlyn just turned 1 on the 2nd of July and we got some great shots of her birthday. I'll try to post them later. |

I spent Sunday night breaking up a fight between a drunk husband and his scared wife and children. I've been talking with men whose wives have cheated on them regularly and who are so depressed they can't function. I meet with one man weekly who cheated on his wife and who now won't trust him for anything.
The lack of leadership in the home is scary. I just posted about it on Rise of the Home. The post is entitled Battle for Men.

I don't know if you guys have ever seen a master craftsman at work or not, but I thought I'd share this link with you. Steve Quillian is unbelievable at building custom wood doors and windows. He built a front door for a home recently that priced out at about $7k. I wrote a post about some of his stuff today for him and thought you guys might like to look at some of the pics on his blog. It's simply amazing.
He also builds custom space ship beds, princess beds, finding nemo beds and all kinds of custom wood furniture like that. It's unbelievable what he can do.
Check it out. |

Over the past month, Lisa and I have been talking about asking several of the couples we've been working with to share their stories with our readers. We've talked with a few and prayed about it a lot, but had an awesome move from God's end where one couple sent us their story without us asking. In particular, the cheating wife, in this case, sent her story.
I've had the privilege of encouraging her husband through the process and am excited to see the response. Check out what we hope will be a regular piece on Rise of the Home entitled:
Testimony: Another Fallen Home on the Rise
If you would, please encourage the couple by leaving a comment. I know it's taken a lot for them to share their story and would love for this to be a point of healing for them as well.
I also posted earlier today a post called Facing the Lion that some of you may enjoy.
Have an awesome weekend! |
