Lots of changes have come about since I last posted. I dated a girl named Amanda for a month or so, and we had lots of fun; she's a great girl, and I really enjoyed our time together, but we decided to break it off last Monday. It's okay; it was a bit mutual, and I'm getting better and better at dealing with those type of situations.
Class: WORST. This semester is the toughest, but most enlightening semester I've ever had. There are never breaks, and I feel like I'm doing horrible in all my classes. This semester definitely feels like a C semester, but hopefully I can pull a B in my C classes and make a couple A's to balance myself. I'm trying not to get discouraged. This is just really TOUGH material, and I'm trying my best, so that's all I can do.
Spiritually: I've been very sacrificial the last month or so because I was really trying to get Amanda to see the truth; however, after a couple months, I saw that her conversion was going to be a tough cookie. I hope the things I said and read her from the Bible hopefully will plant the seed for a conversion in her future. Hopefully, we'll still be friends and talk about these sorts of things. I've been out of town ALOT, as many have noticed, and my group work in my classes have been interfering with Wednesday night service, but soon the semester will be over, and things will return back to normal. I can't wait to be a bit less busy!
JOB: Okay, so this is the climax of my post. I quit working at the PC Shop this week. Wanna know why? Because I am now a research student in Computer Systems Engineering at Auburn University on a big-time project in Energy Efficiency.
I will be researching and developing software that turns IDE hard drives from ON to STANDBY, thus only running the IDE's that are needed or soon to be needed. This will save energy for large systems that run many many hard drives. I'm really excited. I get briefed on the project tomorrow, and then, I will learn my immediate responsibilities on Friday, beginning work on Monday.
PYTHON: I gotta learn a new language.. oh well, simple enough.
I'm a bit crushed, I must admit. So, I was chillin with Brad and Fallon the other night, and I'm not the most avid watcher of American Idol, but they informed me that you can play instruments now in auditions and performances.
That being said, I automatically perked up a little, especially with their encouragement. So, I'm looking at audition dates today, and seems I'm late this year. :(
Well, I guess I might try next year. Seems like a fun little endeavor that could maybe change my life..
