Ooohh, it looks like so much fun!! Good job to the girls on their pumpkins...and I was a China girl one year for Halloween too! Although...Liz looks so much better!! Especially since I did the whole painted face thing: white with elaborate eye make-up... I guess you can't do that though when you are going to church afterwards! :) Did Lauren not go T-o-T?? Thanks for the update!! I can't wait to see you guys...hopefully soon?? :) Love you!
It has been so long since my last update, almost a year! So much has happened. I will begin with this past summer. Lauren and Liz were so busy and gone most of the summer. Here is a picture of Lauren and Liz on our family summer vacation in July. This picture was taken at a park in Ft. Walton Beach, FL.
Lauren and Liz also spent a week with mom and dad and Angela in Florida. They also went to FC Alabama Camp and Lauren went to FC Georgia Camp this summer.
Here is a picture of all of us in Florida on vacation.
Lauren's friend Kim went on vacation with us and took the picture. Here is a picture of Lauren and Kim.
The girls just started back to school on August 9th. Elizabeth graduated 5th grade and now begins Middle School. She is really enjoying it and making lots of new friends. Liz began band this year and is playing the flute. Here is a picture of Liz's 5th grade graduation.
And, a picture of the first day of school.
Lauren is a Sophomore this year. She is taking French and really picking it up easily. Lauren is also driving and making great progress. She has not hit anything or anyone!
Here is a picture of the girls.
We also went to Stone Mountain Park in Georgia this summer for a nice weekend. Here is a picture of Liz and Derek.
Our family is excited about football season, both High School and College. Lauren is marching in the Hoover High Band, www.hooverband.com. We are going to the Fiesta Bowl Parade this winter. Our first football game is an away game in Ohio that will be broadcast on ESPN Saturday, September 1st. Lauren and I are big Auburn fans and hope to go to a lot of games. Derek and Liz are both Alabama fans and hope to have a better year this year.
I'm sure there are many things that I have forgotten to mention. Daisy is doing great, lazy as ever. Derek's parents have moved to the lake house on Logan Martin Lake. Derek and I have our own bedroom that I have decorated. We would love to have our friends and family come visit us at the lake.
Hope to hear from you all and I will try to update more often!
Hey Heather...It was great to see you too! I wish I could have stayed longer and hung out with you all more! I hope all is well with you...from the looks of it, you all had a great vacation! And the girls are so big! Well, it was good to see you and hear from you!
HEY! I had so much fun on the retreat! I wish we could have spent more time together too. I'm glad you went this year though! I love your pics up there!! :)
Sorry, I just saw you replied, the book was "A Brother's Journey" by Richard Pelzer. He wrote it after his brother wrote the book "A Child called It" It is a horredous story about child abuse and the social service system in the 70's. I was reading it for CEU's but it was so intense, I had to read it to make sure he got out of there. Of course who else would have written the book?
Hey Heather! Sorry it's taken me a while to respond...things have been crazy busy for us going back and forth. I can't believe how old the girls are! It seems like just yesterday that Liz was starting kindergarten! Wow, time flies. They are both beautiful! Tell everyone hello for me!
ok, we are your first lake visitors!! Just let me know when. You know I'm kidding. Would love to see you, though. We are thinking about coming to AL for Emily and Dion's wedding in October. Maybe if we do, we can plan on getting together with you guys. Thank you so much for my light house. I collect them and could not figure out how you knew that until I told Tracy about getting it in the mail. Yall are to sneaky. It was an absolute joy to have Lauren and Kaitlyn here for the youth forum. I told them they could come back and spend the weekend with me again some time this winter. (after football season, of corse). ok, I think I will go and try to update my blog, since everyone else seems to be doing that. The pics are great!
