SO..... 11-04-08 06:10pm CST
I had an interesting conversation over the phone with my mum a few minutes ago. It seems as though if I'd wanted to be a cheater and burn two hours worth of gasoline I would have been able to vote back home as well as up here. Apparently my name was STILL on the voter's registration list back home and when my parents came in to vote, my mum saw my name on the list. Of course I'd already voted that morning so she told the lady about it and she said I'd have to go to the court house back home and fix it.

This got my mother and myself to thinking just how many other people were on two lists and took advantage of it. I mean, I've heard all those stories about people registering cows and junk like that to vote, but this was just an honest mistake made on their part. But how many people know that they could do that is what bothers me and really if our registration system is going to be that flawed then how honest is our election process really?

Not very in my opinion. They should just scan our driver's license and be done with it. I mean, it's already got that nifty strip like a credit card on the back. Then all we'd have to do is swipe our ID and we could vote. I personally think that would cut back on the lines a wee bit and keep some of the cheating down. And I know there would be ways around that too, it'd just be harder for them to try it the next time.

I also wish we could have some more privacy then what I've seen so far in my short time as a voter. The last time I voted I just sat at a table with other people beside me and this year I went to a booth, and although it didn't have a curtain on the back it did on the sides, which made me feel a little bit better than sitting at a table.

AND the lines and the TINY room that they had everything in was ridiculous! That room wasn't very big and there was a basketball court right across the hall. My line had to spiral in the middle of the room and it was the shortest as they separated us by last name and us S-Z's were far less than the others. A disorganized mess is what it was.

Mkay, I'm through ranting now. And if you didn't feel like reading all that here's the synopsis: It's easy to vote twice if you have two addresses and the organization at the polls are the lame sauce. There, I said it and am exhausted. I'm going to take a nap. Maybe....if no one calls me. Which always happens when I try to nap. And now I'm just straight up rambling. I'm quitting now. Promise.
captain_spankyI don't take kindly to being smacked. That wasn't very nice of you, you know. And the Vols are som much better than Bama
strawberry_patchYeah I had alot more privacy the first time, then I did this time, although this time I voted early at the library. My friend said she rand into a guy that said he voted for Mcain 4 times...but if he get's caught, they'll throw out all of his votes.

Whee late nights! 10-08-08 01:08am CST
And sickness! Apparently I can't catch a break here peeps. I planned on going to the meeting our church was having tonight only to be thwarted by my cold. HOWEVER, I am feeling better and plan on being there Thursday night since I have to work AGAIN Wednesday night.

In other news, my sister and I are going to be heading back down to visit with the family this weekend and go to the Shrimp Festival, which is misleading because they really don't serve that much shrimp there. At least, not the appetizing kind as it looks like carny food. ANYWAY, we go every year because they usually have some awesome beach stuff that's actually not very expensive and it's made by local artists. If any of you have been to our house and seen our Bama planter outside by our front door *Not to be confused with a planner, which is what Steve thought I was trying to say. :P * , that's courtesy of the Shrimp Festival. I'm hoping we'll find some more cool stuff like that this year and I'll be with my parents and my dog, all of whom I REALLY miss.

On a side note I hope I get to bring my dog back as I'm lonely and sad without him here. Plus, he'll give me a reason to exercise more.

Well, with that tidbit of information on my life I shall leave you all now and bid you ado.

P.S. The Bayfest rocked yet again this year!
justjennMeeting only goes through tonight.

I hope you have a good weekend.
strawberry_patchYou have a cold to? I guess flu season came early this year! Oh well at least maybe we be nice and well for the holidays
strawberry_patchAnother coinsidence: I was going to go to a meeting at church a good friend of our preaches at tonight but I will be staying in because of my cold
soundandfuryyeah, but i want to learn how to flavor sausage in the first place... then make tofu just have the same seasonings. buying the premade stuff is kinda cheap- though it may very well be what i end up doing.
strawberry_patch:( Last night I dreamed about waiting on ya'll to show up for christmas and you never came. In my dream I was like "Please show up or christmas will be ruined!!!" It was funny though because I have no idea where I was because in the dream it was snowing and it looked like on of those little towns up north :D

Looks Like I'm Catching Up on My Blogging! 09-30-08 04:40pm CST
I was wandering through my peeps pages and saw where Miranda had filled this out and since I'm bored and always willing to share random, stupid facts about myself, I filled it out.

Rules: If you get tagged, list 8 random facts/habits about yourself. After which you have to choose 8 others to tag, and to let them know by commenting on their blog.

1. When I was little I had a condition that caused my head to naturally lean to one side. To fix it, my parents had to exercise and strengthen my neck muscles by turning my head from side to side.

2. At one point in my life I wanted red hair. And by red I mean like the color of my sister's car.

3.I've got rather smallish hands. I mean really, check them out the next time you see me. They're pretty small.

4. Ever since I got my hair chopped off when I was 16 I've tried at least a dozen different hair styles. And I'm still trying them.

5. I've lived in four places my entire life, here in Tuscaloosa being the most recent.

6. Before settling on accounting I was seriously considering architecture as a major.

7. Unless I've seen it before, I can't stand to hear people talking during a movie. An occasional comment is fine, but not a conversation. I will shush you. Movies are a serious matter to me.

8.Finally, I haven't had braces in four years but I still diligently wear my retainer. Yay I'm a dork! : D

I tag:
honestly, no one but me ever fills these things out but if you want to then have at it holmes.
ritabita821#8: WOW. What motivates you? Seriously, I need to know, my teeth are getting crooked again :-(
ritabita821My teeth have shifted so much that I can only wear it for 10 minutes before I get a headache. Yikes.
al_goreWow, really? Thanks! That increases my vote percentage by...well, I'm not sure, but at this point it's a significant amount!
soundandfuryhaha...its fine. you can write a blog on my blog. anyways. work is work. and as long as you dont put it before God (which i know you dont) its cool. we have to make a living somehow you know? hey, dont get discouraged. call me whenever you need to talk.

I feel like a backslider man 09-30-08 04:22pm CST
So sunday night if anyone was wondering, where the heck is Callie, I shall tell you. I took a nap Sunday afternoon and Cassie set the clock. HOWEVER, she didn't turn it on so we woke up at five. I wasn't happy let me tell you because not only did I miss church, on my day off none the less, but I also missed the singing. BUH! Needless to say, I'm setting AND turning on the alarm from now on.

Honestly, I don't know how much longer I can take working these hours and trying to get homework done. It wouldn't be that bad if I weren't an art minor because I can handle the accounting homework with no problem. It's all this time consuming art junk that's got be burning my candle at both ends and I'm starting to wear myself thin. I mean, the only people I spend time with now is Cassie and Hayden and that's because I live with Cassie and I have two classes with Hayden. If it weren't for the fact that I live with Cassie I would barely get to see her.

So here's what I'm going to do. I'm going to post my class schedule up here and my work hours every week. If anyone wants to hang out with me during my free time let me know. Please, I'm desperate for some company people!

Behold, my glorious and seemingly short schedule:

Monday
Drawing II 10-12:45
Photography 3-5:45

Tuesday
Accounting 9:30-10:45

Wednesday
Drawing II 10-12:45
Photography 3-5:45

Thursday
Accounting 9:30-10:45

Now, that doesn't look all that bad does it? Well, then add these hours at work to it and Callie just got a whole lot less social.

Going home for the Shrimp Festival

There. Lowe's controls my life right now. I had to put in for time off 30 days in advance and I don't like planning stuff that far in advance at all. I've pretty much made up my mind that I'm staying at Lowe's until Thanksgiving then I'm going to tell them that I can't work because of finals and I'll be free! I definitely don't want to work anywhere when finals come up because 1. I want to live through the them and 2. Because I want to pass them.

So call me peeps, my number is on facebook.

Whoa am I bushed 09-18-08 05:18pm CST
I mean, really, I'm just feeling worn out and extremely tired all the sudden. It's like my arms don't want to move much, which could cause problems when I try to leave the computer in a minute.

Really though, I just wanted to pop on here and say that, even though I'm exhausted, I've been having a pretty good week and have been meeting some awesome new people. New people, you know who you are. I'd do one of those spiffy links but I don't know how and I'm basically too lazy to find out.

As far as school goes, it's keeping me very busy and is a large part of the sleep deprivation as well as work, which I'm thinking about quitting in pursuit of a better job that will let me off on Sundays and Wednesdays. These people are tough about letting you get time off and that just annoys me to death.

I can hear the couch calling me, it says "Come and take a nap on me Callie and feel refreshed."

But my waterbed is louder and it's saying"CURL UP ON ME NOW!!" So I think I'll listen to the latter of the two and go pass out now.

Peace out homies
dr_corndogThanks. I'm here in Corinth for the funeral tomorrow.
ritabita821Reading your previous post, I'm all up for bfast or lunch anytime! Just call me :)
dr_corndogIt's not future-telling, really. But when you understand the math, you realize it couldn't have worked out any other way.
strawberry_patchI didn't know you had a waterbed, Billy went through a phase when he wanted one :D, good lucck with your job, or getting a new one!
strawberry_patchIndeed! being a newly wed will tire you out! I'm still not organized all the way...although I've come a LONG way, you and cassie saw it when we first got married :0 Yuo wouldn't reconize the place now :D
