I figured it was about time to add a new post and as I tried to decide what to write about I realized that had not given Benjamin much "Blog" space. So with that, I wanted to share some pictures of our latest family adventure.
Last Friday evening, we were invited to go fishing out at Mr. John and Mrs. Betty's pond. Benjamin was eager to go when he found out that the fish were biting. He is not one to stand around for a long time waiting for fish, he'd much rather be in a boat or out wondering in the woods. Soon after we arrived at the pond, we began to catch some smaller fish. Benjamin had not had his hook in the water long when he reeled in this BIG ONE! He could not even reel it in without a little help from Mom. I'm not sure how much it weighed or how long it was, but for a little boy, it was a BIG FISH. We had lots of fun.
As for the siLLy sOcKs..today is silly sock day at school..we tried to convince Laura that everyday is a silly sock day for her because she has alot of socks that have silly sayings, pictures,or colors on them. But she insisted on getting some more, so we went with these Ghost socks to go with her pumpkin shirt.
my boys love to fish...especially when they're biting! Not so much fun when they're not! I still think Audrey and Laura look alot alike! Both beautiful!

Did you see my MAJOR oops??? I thought I was on your page and I commented on Jeff's - thinking it was you. Good to know you like tea though. LOL I wasn't all there apparently when I posted that comment.
Today was a life changing day at our house. The afternoons filled with children playing, running around the table, squealing etc..all still exist! Now there's one more noise to add to the excitement. I guess you could say we "dance to the beat of a TUBA" now.
Jonathan decided to take Band as an elective this year. He does not know alot about music, but is very eager to learn. He did not even know what instrument he wanted to play. The first week of school, he talked with his band director and showed an interest in the trumpet. So we took him to a local music shop and let him try one out. He had some difficulty playing it but still wanted to give it a try. I think he was more nervous than anything. He did not get discouraged. He talked with his director some more last week and decided that there was a greater need for tuba players. Jonathan was very excited about this. We teased him that it would be bigger than him, but he did not care. He is determined to play it! I think he will have fun playing the tuba. He seems to have the personality of a tuba player!
So what will be his personal goal to play?? He says the theme from VeggieTales. I'll keep you posted on how that goes.
Today was Laura's first day school. She was so excited that she was jumping up and down all over last night. After we dropped Jonathan off this morning, we were on our way to take Benjamin and Laura to school and she politely informed Jeff and I that she did not need us to walk her to class. I quickly responded that she had to give me atleast one day to walk her to class. She is so independent! I am very thankful that she is this way. I do not want to be that mother that you have to peel the child off your leg. Jeff and I volunteer at school very often and Laura has always trailed behind us. It is a place she is very familiar with. However, since we did move this summer, this made me a little more apprehensive about today. The teachers and staff that we have this year have all made us very comfortable and I think we will be fine with the change. As for me, no tears yet! The house is empty and quite. I have so much to do to keep me busy.
Hey! Wasn't today's weather insane? I didn't take Caleb to school until 11:00 - I waited a good 2 hours to see if anymore tornado warnings were going to happen b/c I just didn't see the point in sending him when he was just going to be in the hall all day long. I just got home from picking him up. Glad I took him, he was able to get 4 hours of work in for today. Did you take yours?
