Well, we're heading back home today. We've had a very enjoyable weekend, I must say. Walker and I came to Tampa with Craig and Clint on Friday and had a good road trip. We then came to Day's house and have stayed here but have gone back and forth to Tampa. We were happy to see friends of old and new friends. The boys are excited to be back. I hope they remember to study :)
We've had a great time with Day and her family. Darby and Noah have been a lot of fun. We've played quite a few games of Pass the Pigs. I think I won one game :) They are good. Noah has a new puppy, she is so tiny and sweet. Darby's dog, Twinkle, is such a good dog but huge compared to Zelda (puppy).
In 2004 we left Chris at FC with 3 Hurricanes to go through (they actually never hit Tampa) so this year we leave Craig and Clint with a Tropical Storm on its way. Aren't we good to them :)
Well, we're off to hit the road and miss the storm.
I was just trying to find the Pass the Pigs game the other day. I was telling some kids here about it and I don't think they believed that there's really a game where you throw pigs. Hope they remember to study too!
Glad you were able to withstand the urge to whack a stranger! I was able to not grab the person behind me's knee - mainly because your pew was empty. Glad you made it home safely. Please excuse my grammar in sentence #2 - it is way too early in the morning!
hi there, wanted to say hi -- i'm friends with her and them...i met you at their house a while back when we came to visit...i go to Eastside in Baytown
Happy Birthday, Walker. Hope you had a fun day. Taken out to lunch at work. Golf after work and then cookout for supper. Birthday cake made by a friend. Can it get better than that? Too bad you don't blog or you could actually answer :) We all know that you are a lurker. I love you!
You don't know walker if you didn't know he was a lurker! HA! HA! Happy Birthday Walker! One of these days.... one of these days...when you least expect it....hum...
Well, today is Walker and my anniversary. 27 year, wow how it went by so quickly. Tonight we had the pleasure of seeing Tyler and Ashlyn get married. I'm so happy for them and am happy to share our date with them :) The first thing Tyler said to me tonight was 'Happy Anniversary'. I couldn't believe that he remembered with all he had going on! Dennis and Beth have raised great children.
Okay, I'm watching the olympics and just found out that Roger Federer was born on our wedding day too. Useless information, I know but I found it interesting.
Walker semi-surprised me and we're staying in Bham for the night. Our boys are all headed in different directions and now we're staying out of town too :)
It's so hard to believe that it's August! Today would have been my Mom's 50th wedding anniversary. Walker and I are coming up on our 27th next Friday. It just doesn't seem like it's been that long. The summer has gone by so quickly. Only a couple of weeks until Craig and Clint go back to Florida College. And then football season will start.
Today I've been working on cleaning the house and getting ready for Supper Club tomorrow night. Seems like my house is always a wreck. I need to get help with Flylady again but can't seem to get motivated enough. I need to set goals for myself. Any ideas? I used to do Flylady but have gotten off, maybe I should enlist her help again. :)
I love that lady! She makes me smile even when I've gotten very little acomplished! I'm only on babystep 4, but I'm making improvements, and that's what it's about. Don't be overcome by stressful events. That is my daily prayer as of late, I'll start praying it for you too. Love you!
I hope we can see ya'll when we are in Tampa. We are going on the 12th and staying til the 19th. Maybe we can eat dinner together sometime or something??
I can relate: ) I have tried Flylady, but haven't done that for a while. We are doing better about our living areas, but the bedrooms are still needing lots of help. I am reading books by Lauri Ward. They are more about home arrangement and decor, (which I have no flair for, but Brianne does. I'm encouraging that in her). The books are helpful to me. They help me see how I can make things work better in our home. We have lots of people in and out, so that keeps us on top of the living area. The storage and bedrooms are the weaknesses.
Adam got his room assignment this weekend: ) His roommate is Clint Davis: ) Does that ring a bell? We were getting things together for Adam to take. Does Clint have a little fridge, or do you know if anyone in the suite does and how that works?
thanks:)
I spent time with Yvette Rouse yesterday: ) She and her kids were in Gettysburg for worship and both of our families were invited to a mutual friend's house for a mini-potluck. There were several families there. It was nice. Stephen is the one who got Adam into the suite.
I just do not have time to read all the e-mails everyday!...several times a day! My life is too busy to stay glued to the computer and I have children at home...hello???? Wow! 27 years...you tell walker I said he was OLD!!!! not you , just him! We want to bring Ty down to a game this year if possible. I'll try to see if Jonathan can figure out when would be a good time for us and we'll try to make arrangements to come down. Love you!
Do you have contact info for Carla Bragwell? If so, could you please send it to sbsmesler@comcast.net if you would rather not post it. If you don't, do you know who might? thanks!
Well my twoyoungest are not teenagers anymore. I realized all week that they will be 20 today but Walker announced last night that 'we won't have teenagers anymore'! It hit me much harder when he put it that way. We've had teenagers since 1998! Oh well. I've been blessed and love all my boys.
My friend is expecting twins. She's a great Mom and I know she is up for the challenge. My advise to her is to pray pray pray and laugh laugh laugh. Also, take notes because you'll probably forget things that happened! (I know, a blessing and a curse)
you are so sweet! I am sorry it was a hard realization for you. I am so sentimental that I get sad at each birthday. What will I do when they hit a birthday that "counts"? You are a great mom!
