Question: When you get your teeth clean how much do you like your hygienist to talk? Do you want her to chat it up or stick to business? Do you enjoy the typical "canned" questions? What is acceptable and what is annoying?
A little talking is ok so that it's not dead silence the whole time, but I don't like it when they act like we don't have tools in our mouths. How can I give a lengthy response to something when my jaw is wide open with her hands in my face?
that is a weird hillbilly picture of you. LOL! how are you? answer to your ?d I like chatting but I hate it when they stick cotton in you like a stuffed duck then ask the important questions, lol! know what I mean? oh, and I HATE THE X-RAY discs that go into your mouth....yuck!
Talking while I can respond is fine, and relaxes me a little. Once there's a hand in my mouth and I can't respond, I get really annoyed with questions. Tell stories if you want, but don't expect a response.
Thanks so much for the advice! I'm sure it will help. I'm so glad you asked this question cause it will help me too! :) Hope you're doing well in Nashville!
My job is going much better. I'm really starting to enjoy it now. I'm becoming much more relaxed and and am really connecting with my patients. However, I get very annoyed when they mistake me for their therapist.
Not much really; sorry if this is so long. dad made 2 baby doll beds for Brenda (Gentry) Haraway. They look adorable. Everyone is working but me. I'm taking shots for my Crohn's and hope it helps. Today, Caleb and Dad and some of Caleb's friends are going to a Cardinal's ballgame.(in the hot seats) How's your job? I am on Facebook now. I just got on there the other day and thought you might be on there too. I like it, do you? Well, hope to talk to you later. tell the others I says hello :) Good luck with your work!
Hey! This is Erica Clark...hope you remember me. I just stumbled on your page..I am going to Western to be a DH too! I'm so happy that things are going so well for you! That's great! I hope everything continues to be wonderful for you!
New jobs are stressful! So the office where I'm working was bought by a corporation in February. The office is still trying to get used to the transition from their style to the corp's way of doing things. This makes things extremely horrible for me. There are no set guidelines for anything bc things are changed on a daily basis. I am the type of person that needs and order and organization. After a very stressful week of everyone telling me something different and getting in trouble several times, when Friday we ran out of suction tips, I almost had a nervous break down. I like the job and I like the people. I just need some black and white rules to follow. I'm sure with time it will get better. But hey, on a bright note, being part of a corporation means great benefits, bonuses, and free CE's. I'm pretty happy.
So, I'm writing this email from my sweet apartment in Nashville. I finally figured out how to set up our internet, now if I can just get the wireless router figured out. We'll see...
So, I was packing my things to move last Monday and I got a call from a lady saying that she wanted me to do some fill-in work and that she also wanted me to interview for a full-time job. I was soooo psyched about that! Anyhow, she wanted me to interview the next day so I packed up my car and headed to Nashville. I made it to my interview and it went extremely well!
Last Wednesday I started doing "fill-in" work at an office and then this week they let me know that they wanted to hire me on full-time. Pretty sweet! I'm very excited.
I had been scared that I would move to Nashville and not find work, but wow...when you pray about it look out for torrential down pours. Last Monday I got the fill-in work and the full-time interview. That same day I was hired back on at the GAP. Later that week I got a call from another office wanting me to do a working interview this next Tuesday. And then this afternoon, after being officially hired on as a full-time hygienist Banana Republic called me and wanted to give me a job. So anyway, God really answers prayers!
This week I've been working 8-5 as a DH and then straight to GAP to work all night. It has been miserable. I am so exhausted. I went ahead and cut back my hours at the GAP to just some on the weekend. Hopefully next week I will have time to get unpacked and breathe for a second.
So I'm doing a lot of packing for the big move on the 1st. I'm pretty excited for the move. I got my key to our super sweet apartment today. I'm so excited to be living in such a nice place, because this past house has been pretty icky. I'm really hoping to stay settled at this place for a while. I'm sick of moving. My luck, Heather will up and get married next year. That's what usually happens.
I've been sleeping on the same mattress, that was my first bed, for my whole college career. Needless to say, it droops in the middle and is not very comfortable. Heather and I have a hook-up at a mattress outlet in Nashville, so we both are gonna head over there on Tuesday and buy queen mattresses. I can't even wait!
The office I've been working at in Nashville has just been hiring me to fill-in for their hygienist. I was supposed to have a few more weeks of work, but unfortunately they aren't going to need me. That's a bummer. So anyway, the day I got that news I freaked out about how I was going to pay bills so Natalie Dew hooked me up at the GAP where she is a manager in Green Hills. I plan to aggressively seek a hygiene position once I get moved. I really don't want to be a RDH who works at GAP.
My cell phone was stolen in Costa Rica, so I probably don't have your #. So, if you have my # feel free to send me a text with your name and phone #. That is, if you ever want me to call you.
Your cell phone was stolen?!? There has to be a story there....and it wasn't Wayne Galloway's son staying at our house this summer, either. Had I told you that?
good luck w/the job search!! i'm sure you'll find something :) i'm workin' in nashville, but i'm commutin' for now...it's not too bad of a thing to do, but i don't wanna do it forever for sure!
