Yard Sale, Wedding Plans, and Bears. Oh my!

My roomie, Nicole, Allen, and I spent last night getting ready for a yard sale tomorrow. We made the coolest clothing rack out of a curtain rod, two bookcases, and a ladder. I am still really impressed with it, but the simple things do amuse me. We spent part of the evening buying stuff from each other, there are at least 10 items that won't make it to the sale.Quick Wedding Update:Bridesmaids dresses are order! I am so happy! My dress is in.My mother-in-law booked our rehearsal dinner site, the U.S.S. Alabama. That's right, our rehearsal dinner will be hosted on a battleship. I know, we're kind of awesome. In other news, they shot a black bear in a neighborhood in Athens, AL. My dad was so excited he called me at 11:30. Three times. Bears aren't very common in Athens. Happy Birthdays Angela and Emily!

129 days to go

The fact that Toby Keith has a movie coming out entitled "Beer For My Horses" really scares me. That has nothing to do with the rest of the post. I'm going to Mobile this weekend. I'm excited! And my parents are going so we should get several wedding related activites crossed off the list.My dress is ordered! If you want to know what it looks like you can see it on December 6th in Fairhope, AL. The bridesmaids dresses have not yet been picked out. Those have been slightly more complicated. I even had a dream that it was the day of the wedding and we forgot to order bridesmaids dresses. So the girls went to the mall and came back wearing brown velvet track suits. At that point I didn't care and just told them to get down the aisle. My sister has requested "Maid of Honor" in rhinestones on the back of hers. It will be so hot!

159 days to go

I need one of those online counters to put on pleo.I had a good weekend. Bryan came up and helped me with much needed house related things. I love that I'm going to marry someone that actually knows how to fix things, that is pretty rare these days. Then we went to Jacquelyn's sushi party which was a huge success. And we saw Wanted. It was good but I would not recommend it because of the language. I've been dress shopping several times now, and I have awesome friends and family that have taken time out of their schedules to help me crawl into huge dresses. It's seriously a workout. Haven't decided anything yet but hopefully I will soon since I'm running out of time.

One year ago today, I met the man I was going to marry. I just didn't know it at the time. This past Thursday night my sister, my roommate, and my mom who was in town called me downstairs. I was in the middle of packing because I thought I was driving to Mobile the next day to see my boyfriend. How wrong was I! When I get to the bottom of the stairs there is a box with a lock on it and an instruction booklet. I also received a key ring with 4 keys. First key went to the big box. In it were flight details telling me I was going to Denver the next day. (Don't worry Bryan had talked to my supervisor 3 weeks ago to get me the day off.) I was instructed to pack carry-on only, and a man with my name on a sign would meet me at the Denver airport when I landed. I also had to pack the random items in the box as I may or may not need them to proceed to the next clue. These items included a ski mask, gloves, gum, beef jerky, and life savers among others. For the next few hours my...

Does that mean I'm grown up? I doubt it, probably just lazy with limited computer time. My Amy turned 26 a few weeks ago. We celebrated ATL style. It's been a while since we did that. Hit up the Aquarium, Coke Factory, IKEA, and of course Maggiano's. And we got lost. Twice. It's not a trip to Atlanta unless at some point everyone in the car is lost, completely confused, and maybe slightly irritated. Even the iPhone couldn't save us. Two weeks from now is HomeFries weekend. It is so strange to live so far away from all my Auburn friends. Reading on Pleo reminds me that I am one of the few people that moved away by myself. Of course, most people moved to Birmingham, so that is kind of cheating. I'm sure she knows how I feel. It's easy to get homesick for Auburn, it's such an easy place to love. My coworkers ask me every week if I'm going to Alabama for the weekend. Apparently, I go there a lot. But I have more reasons than I used to, and I had plenty to begin wit...

So much to say...

California was amazing. I'll have more to say when I get my pictures loaded. "Living" with my girls again was great. The walk was surreal in so many ways. 4600 walkers harrassed the streets of San Diego for three days. Over 12 million dollars were raised! Thanks again. And an anonymous donor gave me the rest of my money needed, so if you are reading this, thank you!Work has been good since I got back. I was chewed out by a 79 year old woman, who accused me of harrassment and hung up on me. But I'm letting it go. Actually, I'm really excitied about it. I have been at my job almost three months and it is the first time I've been chewed out for something I didn't do by a stranger over the phone. That is a record based on my last two jobs. By three months in at the Helpdesk and TransHealth I have been yelled at a few dozen times. Driving to Athens with Shannon after work to spend time with the family. I plan to eat, a lot. Let's just say I've been training f...

Walking the Walk

The home fries and I leave tomorrow for California. Four days in LA and five days in San Diego. Three of those days of course will be spent walking. Thanks to everyone that helped us raise the money for this walk. It has been really encouraging to have so much support from the people in our lives. It is amazing to have so many people give their time and money to support us and this cause. Thanks to all of you, there are too many to begin to list.If you want to see how much we have raised, you can view our Team Page. The online site stays open for another three weeks or so, if you have not yet had a chance to donate.I am very thankful to report that the next time I post, I will not be asking any of you for money or encouraging you to attend any fundraisers. I assure you, I am as tired of it as you are.
