Tonight's moral of the story

Don't play your 62 year old mother in the 1981 edition of Trivial Pursuit. She will win.
  • curlie
Basically. My 52-year-old father is the same way. I still say he memorized the cards back in the '80s. ;)

Mom can't beat me at regular Trivial Pursuit but with the "Pop Culture" edition, she destroys me. Pop Culture ... HA ... it's mostly 60's-70's.

Yeah I don't play the 'rents. They be to smart. But I have learned that The Beatles and each of their names do get a lot of questions right.

Upon a routine trek to Huntsville yesterday, I-45 is horribly backed up. I take advantage of opportunity and exit to go up 75 through Conroe. No fun whatsoever. I like Conroe less than Tomball, save for the schoolhouse store. I made it to class 15 minutes late and after scurrying to my desk, my contact falls out. I get right back up with an odd look from my professor and hurry with contact and contact solution in hand to the bathroom. Twenty more minutes pass and I finally get it in. It just wasn't a very adroit day. I come back to class with all eyes on me when I walk in the door, as if to inquire who goes to the bathroom for 20 minutes. I know nothing about my portfolio assignment that is due soon.

It wasn't necessary to go to my first class today so I am just hanging out in the student centre. People make some funny comments to you...but at least I can say that I go to a school where anyone will talk to you. This is good on those unfortunate days when you can't coerce anyone to go eat with you, you just simpy sit down with someone else. I don't know where this surge of confidence came from but it is sehr deutsch of me to dine with strangers. Let's just hope that an "Ist hier noch frei?" doesn't slip out before I seat myself. That would be awkward, unless it was to the exchange student.

  • mjintexas
I tend to strike up converstions with strangers. I noticed this has happened moreso lately in airports than I'm used to.

I see Cotswold. Do you know F. LaGard Smith?
    by arsenal at 04/19/07 1:44PM
  • arsenal
As I retired police officer I respect your right "to remain silent". F. LaGard Smith is an FC alumnus who went on to become a lawyer, teacher and religious book writer. For a few months during the year he lives in Cotswold. That is the connection.
