"The Duel" - 1.15.09
First of all, its about time we have a new Office episode! Am I right, three people who read this group?? Yeah, and its also about time Andy finds out what everyone has now known for weeks. When even Michael is way ahead of you on something, well. . . you know.
- The duel was just about everything I'd hoped for: Treachery, ridiculous dialogue, bicycle chains (well ok, I was expecting the bowstaff), empty threats, you name it. This has supplanted "The Fight" as the greatest Dwight fight of the series.
- In case you're just now joining us this season, "The Fight" is a second-season episode about a fight between Michael and then-purple belt Dwight in a dojo for 8th graders.
- Michael's approach to crafting an intelligent thought: Keep talking until you come up with something. He should really run for city council.
- Another classic example of Jim trying to be fill-in manager and failing miserably. But where was Pam in all of this?? I can confidently say that at no time in the history of The Office has Meredith gotten more lines in an episode than Pam.
- Prius: The silent killer.
- Seriously, how can Oscar still sit at that desk now?
- "Huge heads and beet-stained teeth"
- You know, its during conflicts like this that a trusty HR representative really comes in handy. . . oh wait, where the heck was Toby??
