What's that metal thing that's alive?

in the episode about Lana getting Clark's powers, there's this metal thing that's alive, and escapes. I think it's Milton Fine. what about you? and if it is Fine, can we trust him?

    Clark cannot trust Fine because he is a prototype created by Zod. He is evil. He did several evil things in season 5:
    1. poisoned Clark with silver Kryptonite
    2. poisoned Martha and tried to get Clark to believe it was Jor-El.
    3. Tricked Clark into trying to destroy the Fortress of Solitude
    4. Teamed up with Lex to do something (I forget at the time).
    5. Killed several people in Honduras...

    The list goes on and on.
