Why did you join Arete?

I joined Arete because....um....you guys didn't insult anyone in your skit and I knew you did devos a lot

I joined Arete because it seemed to be a bit more spiritually and academically focused, and a lot of my friends were joining. Besides, Arete is the only society that's a word and not just a bunch of random Greek letters! Go Arete!

i first started out on PBG. but the ppl on Arete were WAY nice and so i decided to ditch PBG and join Arete on my 2nd semester.

I actually joined Phi Sig my first semester... but, like Paul said, found that the vast majority of my friends were in Arete. Because Arete people are unusually crazy. Like certain Artesians I know who used to hold wrestling matches in the Sutton Hall basement.

I joined because there were already people I knew at FC and Tim Boaz was one of those priviledged...I mean one of them. Tim is a great guy and so I joined the society of choice (according to Tim) and became an Artesian for a year.

I joined because... I wanted to play in sports, lose, and not care one bit. No, actually, I won't say why I joined, for fear of offending anyone that may have lead to my switch. Plus, Arete is cool. I mean, it's a word. Not just letters. It's a word. :P

It's on my blog, but I'll replicate it here: I don't care who you are or what you're into, everyone is a nerd/geek about SOMETHING, whether that thing is computers, comic books, sci-fi, shoes, sports, animals, etc. Everyone is a geek/nerd in some way/form. Arete understands this and accepts it, and that's why I wanted to join Arete.

I thought that I would have friends here b/c I didn't fit in with my last society but I don't really fit in here +either. I am finding it REALLY hard to get to know anyone on this society and no one seems to care who I am. I thought Aerete would be different but its really hard for me.

It was a toss-up between Arete and Phi Sig, and basically because allison was artesian in nature, and all of her people that i knew before i knew my people were on arete, so i'm aretesian

All my friends were in ARETE. Tim Thiele and Brian Baird encouraged me to join. As did Jared Hagan. And Rufieo was there too!!!

I was dating a girl who joined Arte. The pathetic thing is that she broke up with me a few weeks later. Man, that was funny.

I had friends on arete, I felt that my strengths (read:athletic knowledge and abilities) could be better served on Arete, I would get more playing time, and I thought it would be fun for Arete to beat KO. Which we did, twice. 2007 was a great year for arete sports

Well, my whole family had been on Arete, so it was kinda in my blood-and most of my friends ended up being on Arete as well (probably because all their older siblings were on Arete too so we all had connections :)
